Everything you need to know if you are going to fly with Ryanair from November

After all the flights cancelled, the low cost airline company has decided to change its policy concerning the luggage. There are different things you should know if you are going to fly with Ryanair in the near future. Even if you have already booked your flight you have to pay attention to its new policy. Have a look at this article to know everything about the new Ryanair policy.

Only one bag allowed into the cabin to avoid delays

After all the delays and the forced cancellations, the Irish company has decided to change its policy regarding the luggage. Ryanair has always been one of the low cost companies that allowed its customers to bring two bags with them on board. According to the airline company this has caused a lot of delays during the boarding because people carried with them too many bags that most of the time didn’t follow the prearranged size. You were always allowed to bring a small suitcase and a bag, for example a backpack for the laptop or other electronic devices. The airline said that their customers have taken advantage of their kindness bringing with them bags up to two time the permissible size. This won’t happen anymore from the 1st November. If you have already booked a Ryanair flight or not you have to follow the new instructions.

Two pieces of luggage into the cabin are not allowed anymore. The only solution is to have the priority boarding that you can buy with an additional fee while you are purchasing your flight ticket. This could be considered a problem for all the customers who are going to fly with Ryanair but the company said that the second bag will be put in the hold free of charge at the gate. So remember that according to the new Ryanair policy you will be able to bring with you only a carry-on bag on board. Your wheelie bag won’t be allowed on board anymore and they will put it in hold for free at the gate. But do not forget that you still have to consider the permitted liquids and stuff to place in your bag.

The new Ryanair policy would reduce the time spending by the flight attendants looking for a suitable space for all the luggage before taking off. Furthermore, the company will reduce delays and save money. There will be different fares for the customers but even if you don’t have to pay an extra for your second bag, the new Ryanair policy will force you to wait for your bag to come around the carousel after landing. This will cause your own delay. Most of the customers who travel for short city breaks prefer bringing only one small luggage in order to save their time, visiting the city as much as they can without waiting for their baggage.

New fees for your hold luggage

The new Ryanair policy includes new fees for your baggage in the hold. The company believes that in this way customers will be encouraged in checking-in more bags instead of taking only a small bag on board. The costs have been reduced from 35£ to 25£ to check-in one bag. And not only the cost has changed but also the kg, the cheaper luggage will be of 20kg and not 15kg. This is a good news for those who want to check-in more luggage.

If you are going to book a flight you’ll see that there are different kind of tickets available. The first one is the cheapest called Standard Fare which includes only one bag to take on board. The second one, Plus, includes the priority boarding, 60 days check-in, 20kg check-in bag and reserved standard seat. In addition, you can also bring two bags at the gate (even if one of these will be put in hold). And the last one, the most expensive is called Flexi Plus includes also fast track, optional airport check-in and flexible tickets. It seems that despite the cancellations the amount of the bookings has increased. From the 1st November will see if the new Ryanair policy works or not, if there will be delays and if people will check-in more bags or will continue in taking two bags with them.
