Learn What You Can Bring on the Plane

Each time you enter into an airport, a number of precautions are taken to ensure your flight is safe.
By following the procedures below and ensuring that your baggage meets EU Security Requirements and Security Administration (TSA) standards, the airport screening process can be much faster and easier.
Liquids in hand baggage
When passing through airport security screening:
• Liquids carried must be in a container of no more than 100ml (3.4 ounces)
• All liquids should be carried in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag of up to 20cm x 20cm with a total capacity of up to a litre
• You must be able to completely close the bag and be able to fit it in your hand baggage
• The bag of liquids must be taken out of other hand baggage to be screened separately
Baby food and milk
If you are travelling with an infant you are allowed to carry as much baby milk, powdered milk, sterilised water and baby food as required for your flight, even if this exceeds the usual limit on liquids. These do not need to fit in the transparent bag but you should have them ready for inspection by airport security.
Liquid medicines
You are allowed to carry liquid medicine as required for your flight. The medicine does not need to fit in the transparent bag but you should have it ready for inspection by airport security.
Duty free liquids purchased from any airport or airline may be carried as hand luggage as long as the item and the receipt remain sealed inside the security bag (with a red border) provided at the time of purchase. You may not open the security bag until arrival at your final destination. However, security officers may need to open the bag and the bottles for screening. If this happens, and you have a connecting flight at another airport, tell the security officer so the liquids can be re-sealed in a new security bag.
Any sharp objects that might be used as weapons are not allowed in the aircraft cabin. These could be everyday objects such as corkscrews knives and scissors of a certain size, which should be packed in your hold luggage. Limits on the size of cabin baggage and the number of items you are allowed to take on board are set by the airlines so check with your airline before you travel.
Explosives and inflammable items – fireworks or aerosol spray paint for example, and other inflammable and toxic substances such as acids – are prohibited on flights. They may not be carried in either cabin or checked baggage.
No weapons of any kind are allowed on board the aircraft.
