The best airports in the Uk: travelers reviews and my experience

I live in the Uk since 2017 and I have visited lots of its airports. I have decided to write a post regarding the best airports in the Uk taking into account other travelers reviews and my experience. Let’s have a look at the top 15 of the best airport in the Uk considering different fields.

The best airports in the Uk: the size doesn’t count, Newcastle is at the top of the chart

First of all the size is not always the best standard to evaluate the efficiency of an airport. This is the reason why at the top of the chart of the best airports in the Uk there is the one in NewCastle. The north-east airport has the best scores in three categories: cleanliness, toilets and check-in.

Second place for London City airport. It is considered one of the best for its Wifi, baggage wait and security. It is right in the city center and it is used a lot for business trips. This is the reason why the security and the baggage wait are amazing. But it is one of those airports that doesn’t serve lots of destinations. In the third position of the best airports in the Uk we have the airport in Liverpool followed by the one in Edinburgh.

Some people said that the airports in the Uk are evil places where you have to go in order to reach hot places. But all in all they are not too bad. In the other positions of the best airports in the Uk we have Bristol, Leeds, East Midlands, Birmingham, Manchester, Heathrow, Cardiff, Gatwick, Belfast, Stansted and Luton. So as you can see from the chart the airport in London that is in the top 10 is the one in the City. All the others haven’t obtained very good positions.

The best airports in the Uk: the friendliest, the cleanest and the ones with the best restaurants

We had a look at the best airports in the Uk the ones that had the best reviews by the travelers. Now we can have a look at some of the fields that are important to rate. The friendliest are the one in Liverpool followed by Cardiff and Newcastle. The cleanest are Newcastle, Cardiff and Bristol.

Furthermore, when someone travels and has to wait a flight for hours in the airport has to eat something. So this is the reason why in the reviews of the travelers there are also the scores for the airports that have the best restaurants and bars. In the first position there is Manchester followed by Birmingham and Heathrow.

As a result according to the poll the four London airports were at the foot of the friendly scale with Luton at the bottom and then Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick. Even if the airport in Newcastle is considered the best in the Uk in the best airports in the world chart Heathrow airport was the only one included in the top 10 at ninth.

The best airports in the Uk: my experience

As I live in the Uk since 2017 and I travel a lot I have visited many of the airports in the country. The first ones have been the ones in London. First of all I remember that Heathrow was huge, caotic and really confusing. Gatwick is really nice especially the area where you have to wait for your flights after the check-in. I spent one night at Gatwick and there are comfy armchairs. London Stansted is like a second home for me because it has the best and cheapest flights for Naples. I have spent so many hours there including two full nights. In contrast with Gatwick, Stansted has no places to spend a “good” night. But it is very safe even if it is not very clean and there aren’t many restaurants and bars especially before checking in. The best thing at Stansted is the Wifi.

I barely remember the airport in Birmingham because I took the last flight Naples-Birmingham with the company Monarch. Birmingham is considered one of the best airports in the Uk but it has no flights to go to Naples. I really like the airport in Bristol. It is easy to get there from the city center (less than 40 minutes by bus). It is safe, the check in process is always very fast and the waiting area is small but very nice. Finally the East Midlands one is small but very comfy. The process of the check in is fast, it is safe even if it is not very clean and the Wifi works very well. I have discovered this ariport because it offers some flights to Naples during the week from April to October.
